Inspired by the work of the late MEP and women’s rights campaigner Fiorella Ghilardotti, this fund was created in 2004 to enable young people to gain practical experience in the areas of social rights and employment, women’s rights, anti-discrimination, equal opportunities and fundamental rights and freedoms. The candidate of this fund must prove his/her personal commitment (NGOs), professional experience or studies in the fields mentioned above.
General provisions
In order to determine to the department that best suits your profile, you can find out more about the work of each team in our Secretariat.
To apply for a traineeship you must fulfil the conditions specified in Article 3 of the internal rules governing traineeships in the S&D Group and complete the online application form.
When applying online, you have a maximum of 30 minutes to complete each page of the application form. Please note that if you leave your application form inactive for 30 minutes, the data you have entered will be lost. We therefore advise you to read the internal rules before starting to fill in the application form online.
To prevent the system becoming overloaded by a large number of applications, we advise you not to wait until the last day to apply.
The application is submitted in a single operation and cannot be changed once submitted. Therefore, please make sure that it is correct and complete before submitting it. Once you have submitted your online application a confirmation message will automatically be sent to your email address.
Please note that incomplete applications will automatically be rejected.
