Vacancies for permanent posts (open-ended contracts) in the S&D Group secretariat are filled through competitions organised by the S&D Group or by transfers, secondments from the EP or from other EU institutions.
Permanent posts will be advertised below, and you can fill in your application using the online form as and when there is a specific post available.
Before filling in the application form, please prepare the documents you need:
- Language qualifications - diploma(s) or certificate(s) of the level required for admission to the competition;
- Education - diploma(s) or certificate(s) of the level required for admission to the competition;
- CV - only in English and EUROPASS format;
- Professional experience - certificate(s) of employment or employment contract(s);
- Proof of citizenship - passport or identity card.
You will be asked to provide the originals of the supporting documents should your application be successful.
For your application to be considered, you must:
- Be a national of one of the member states (unless otherwise stated) of the Union and enjoy full rights as a citizen;
- Have fulfilled all obligations imposed on you by the laws on military service;
- Be able to provide character references appropriate to the performance of the duties concerned;
For functional reasons, a very good knowledge of English is required.

Frequent travel outside Belgium may be required, especially to Strasbourg during the parliamentary sessions.
